Matching Green CE Primary School is a Voluntary Controlled Church Primary School and as such we implement Essex County Council's policy for admissions which is as follows:
The number intended to admit in each academic year is 14.
There is no guarantee of a place for children living in the priority admission area. In the event of over subscription, places will be allocated using the following criteria in the order given:
1, Children Looked After and previously Children Looked After
2, Children with a sibling attending the school
3, Children living in the priority admission area
4, Remaining applications
In the event of over subscription within any of the above criteria, priority will be determined by straight line distance from home to school, those living closest being given the highest priority.

If you are applying for a place in the Foundation Stage (Reception) for your child to start in the academic year 2024/2025 your application must be received by the LA by the 15th January 2024. Please note that the applications open on the ECC web site on 6th November 2023. You will receive notification from the LA on whether your application has been successful together with guidance for those unsuccessful applicants who wish to appeal against the LA's decision. Appeal information is below.
Children who are due to start in our Foundation Stage are normally admitted: Full time in the Autumn Term.
All admissions are full time unless otherwise agreed between the school and the parents.
Children transferring from other schools will normally be admitted at the beginning of a new term, unless they are moving into the catchment's area of the school or by special arrangement with the school.
All children who are due to start at Matching Green CE Primary School will have the opportunity to spend some time in the school prior to the actual start date, to familiarise themselves with the other children, the staff, routines and surroundings.

A mid term admission is when your child is not starting our school in September.
